Cultural heritage is a public good and yet, some people loot and sell antiquities for profit. Τhey violently remove ancient artefacts from the soil or the bottom of the sea, they plunder Byzantine churches, grabbing icons, murals or sacred vessels. Τhey even steal precious objects from museums. International rings of antiquities smugglers traffic the stolen goods towards illegal markets.

This is a video we made aiming to inform the young about the extent and the consequences of this criminal activity and is part of a wider communication toolset managed by the Greek Ministry of Culture.
