A temporary exhibition dedicated to the life and poetry of Constantine Cavafy, the Egyptiot Greek poet with his individual style that earned him a place among the most important figures in Greek poetry but in Western poetry as well.
Presented in the Byzantine Museum of Veria, the exhibition was organized by the Ephorate of Antiquities of Imathia, the Ethnographic Center Giorgis Melikis, supported by Eurasia editions and Onassis Foundation and curated by George Liolios.
Suggesting a new exhibition approach, the concept was to present poems and typography as basic visual communication elements. Enhanced by original objects, newspaper archives from the 1920’s, a 45-minute documentation video and an emotional sound design, the installation resulted in an intimate, sentimental experience.
